If your helmet is the type that has the screw on buttons, the button piece on the helmet, unscrew the top ones and adjust the chin strap, and screw it into the whole in the chin strap strap. you'll need to leave the bottom ones on the with snap on ones. so you can unsnap them and take off your helmet.
